Happy Hour!


We are featuring Ron Pierce, Senior Director at PBS. Previously, Ron was at the Democratic National Committee where, among his duties, he served as Director of Small Business Outreach. Hope you’ll join us on Thursday, October 23  from 5-7 pm. The restaurant is located at 1800 Diagonal Rd in Alexandria.

Senior Director, PBS Veteran Initiative

Meet Ron Pierce, who joined PBS this week as Senior Director, PBS Veterans Initiative on the Station Services team. In this role, Ron will lead the planning, coordination and implementation of PBS' "Stories of Service" initiative in support of veterans. This includes working closely with member stations, CPB, NPR, other public media partners, and veterans groups across the country. Ron comes to PBS from the Democratic National Committee, where he was National Director of Veterans Outreach, Director of Small Business Outreach and Deputy Director of Constituency Outreach. 

Specifically in his work with veterans, Ron organized, developed and managed the national veterans and military family outreach program, working to ensure this important group?s integration and consideration in Democratic Party policies and values. During President Obama's re-election campaign, Ron also spent time as State Veteran Outreach Director at the North Carolina branch of Obama for America, where he led and managed the statewide veteran outreach program. 

Prior to his work in politics, Ron lived in San Francisco and worked at network communications provider PAETEC Communications, where he managed several account as a Senior Team Manager. He also spent nearly seven years as a Senior Carrier Account Executive with XO Communications. 

He began his career in telecommunications as an Account Executive with WorldCom. A combat veteran, Ron spent 11 years in the U.S. Army, ultimately reaching the rank of Major. During his service, he spent time stationed in Minsk, Belarus as a Nunn-Lugar Nuclear Arms Reduction Officer, and also served as Commanding Officer for a 150-person artillery unit. He earned his B.S. in Human Services from West Point and holds a Master of International Affairs in Russian Studies from the Naval Postgraduate School. He also attended the Defense Language Institute and is conversant in Russian. Ron is a native of New Orleans.
