James W. Dyke Jr. - Commonwealth Transportation Board
Transportation, it's always on our mind living in Northern Virginia. Join us Friday, March 4 for an in depth discussion with James W. Dyke Jr. We are looking forward to hearing his views on ways in which Democrats can be supporters of a strong economic environment, transportation in Northern Virginia, and -- if he was involved –the 2030 Group’s Roadmap to Our Region’s Economic Future that was released in January 2016.
In May of 2014 Governor Terry McAuliffe named Jim as 1 or 6 new Virginia business and transportation leaders to the Commonwealth Transportation Board, sharing the Governor's vision for the future of our transportation system, and will get right to work investing our resources in projects that ease congestion, promote economic development and support local communities across the Commonwealth.
Jim has established a significant regional presence in the business, education and government arenas. He is well respected for his experience in working with all components of the community and with both political parties, having been appointed to numerous important positions by Democrats and Republicans.
He is an active leader in the Northern Virginia business community having served as chairman of the Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce; chairman of the Northern Virginia Business Roundtable; President of the Northern Virginia Community College Educational Foundation; and chairman of the Emerging Business Forum, an organization focused on enhancing minority and women entrepreneurs' businesses.
